Rasoi

One long table under the arcade and a kitchen you can see into. Chef Padma Rathore cooks what her grandmother cooked — heavy on the millet, light on the theatre.

As you are. Nobody has ever been turned away for a kurta.

The room

Rasoi is the room the house eats in. One table of eighteen down the middle, eight smaller ones under the arcade, and a kitchen with no door on it, so you watch the bajra go onto the ash. The menu has changed four times since 2019 and the laal maas has been on all of them.

Worth knowing. Residents are seated first. The rest of the city books about three weeks out, and we hold four covers back each night for people who walk in and are willing to eat early.
