The room

Fourteen tables, one charcoal fire, and the fort straight ahead with nothing built between. The floodlights come on at seven, which is when the roof stops needing light of its own. The parapet tables go first, so ask for one when you book rather than when you arrive.

Worth knowing. Open October to March. Out of season the kitchen downstairs takes every table, and we would rather tell you that now than at the stair.
