The space

Every room in Royal Heritage looks onto this court, which is why we let it for one event at a time and close the house to other arrivals when we do. Local sandstone underfoot, an arcade on all four sides, and lamps set into the wall at the height they were cut for in 1874. A hundred and twenty at table under the open sky.

Worth knowing

Open to the sky. From November to February bring a shawl — it drops below ten degrees after eleven.

Hire terms

Hire covers the stated hours and excludes catering, tax and hired equipment. A 30% deposit holds the date, the balance falls due fourteen days before, and a cancellation inside ninety days forfeits the deposit.
